Supervisor Development Programmes
Research-based professional development for doctoral supervisors at all career stages.
- Better supervision
- More reflective practice
- Higher quality doctoral journeys
Research-informed workshops, keynotes and supervisor development programmes for universities and doctoral schools.
I am Gitte Wichmann-Hansen, professor at the University of Agder and a researcher in doctoral supervision. For more than two decades I have studied what makes supervision work — and helped supervisors, doctoral schools and academic leaders put that knowledge into practice.
My work sits at the intersection of research and practice. Drawing on international experience and rigorous facilitation, I help institutions develop high-quality supervision, reflective research cultures and sustainable doctoral education.

This conviction runs through everything I do. Supervision is a relationship and a craft — one that develops through reflection, dialogue and a culture that takes both research and people seriously.
